Society for Adaptive Organisations Launches Adaptive Organisations: Leadership Certification

MUNICH, February 2026 – The Society for Adaptive Organisations (SfAO) today announced the launch of Adaptive Organisations: Leadership (AO-L), a new professional certification focused on the human aspects of leadership in adaptive organisations.

The AO-L certification represents the Society’s distinctive approach to leadership development. The programme focuses on cultivating leadership as a distributed capability, present at every level and embedded across the entire enterprise. Participants learn to enable high-performing, self-managing teams and develop leadership capacity throughout their companies.

The curriculum addresses the specific challenges modern collaborative leaders face when building organisations that stay ahead of the curve through innovation. Topics include leadership as an emergent phenomenon, building high-performing teams, meaningful leadership skills such as communication and empowerment, and continuous leadership development.

Complementing the Society’s Certification Portfolio AO-L is designed to complement the Society’s existing Adaptive Organisations - System Design (AO-SD) certification. While AO-SD focuses on the structural and organisational design aspects of adaptive organisations, AO-L addresses the human dimensions of leadership. Together, the two programmes provide a comprehensive foundation for professionals seeking to build and lead adaptive organisations.
